I got a netbook eee 1005HA and windows has gone kaput
because I've got dual boot of backtrack the grub has messed up my partition and I can't restore to factory defaults

so I need a linux disto that is known to work (drivers worries me) for my asus netbook

any linux distros any of you can recommend?

There seems to be quite a lot of eee users on the crunchbang forums so I'd assume your netbook is well supported by pretty much most debian based distros, Crunchbang Statler + OpenBox is light as heck and is perfect for a netbook.

Oh, and grub won't have cocked up any of your partitions as its only a bootloader, it's you that messed the partitioning up when you repartitioned for backtrack!

mmm how did you know?

the scope of my problem is THIS:

I just can't hit F9 to restore because of the way my drive is now partitioned

do any of you linux folk have any ideas?

if I fixed my MBR with recovery console
do u think I could restore the laptop to how it was when it left factory?

will check out all the distros thanks

thanks but will it matter that efi partition is now at the back of my drive not at the beginning?

I am going to give this a shot will see how it goes
