Ok,

So I'm sick and tired of using Sonicstage with my Sony MP3 player. It's just so annoying, it takes ages to do simple things and the program is just so frustrating. Is there anything else I can use to transfer music to my Sony NW-A1200 8GB MP3 player?

If there is not, then what MP3 would you recommend? I'm looking for simple software to transfer files, 8GB+ and an all round decent player. Just wondering what sort of things I can get, not really got a budget of such....

Sony NWZA818 around 80 quid, 8GB and can transfer files using drag and drop or Media Player.

Sony NWZA818 is best sounding player out - leagues above older sony mp3 players. As for the A1200 - you can sync your music using winamp with a plugin found on the net.

i just got a sony nwz-a728 and it's great. i used device manager to get rid of MTP and now use it as generic usb device - which means i can use a proper file sync application instead of using poxy media players. :p

i'd definitely try the suggestion about the plugin above though before forking out for something new. :D

You dont need to force the player out of MTP, you can simply drag n drop music out of the box :)

i know that. read my post again. try using a file sync application like robocopy on an MTP device.... (clue: it needs a drive letter to work with). :)

ok the OP didn't put that as a requirement but i just posted about how i use it. :p
