Spec Me - Network Attached Storage

I'm looking at getting a NAS for my sister for xmas, but I'm unsure on what one to go with.

She has a 400GB Western Digital MyBook USB External HD at the moment, and if possible I'd like to leave it connected to the new NAS device rather than directly to the PC.
I've looked at the Western Digital MyBook NAS and have heard it's fans are rather loud but if anyone owns one could they confirm this??

Ideally I'm looking for 1TB of storage with a budget of £150

I know someone who has the mybook nas and indeed the fans are noisy and on a wooden floor it vibrates slightly making a good humming sound. Avoid if you want a silent solution.
