Hey,
So, I have £400 to spend on my computer and thought I might as well rebuild.
I'm going to keep:

60gb SSD
500GB HDD
Corsair 650w PSU
HIS AMD Radeon HD 6950

So all I need is:
Motherboard
Processor
Case
Memory
(Will buy a heatsink at a later date)

This is what I have selected thus far:

Any changes that should be made?
Thanks!

Do you need the X-fire capabilities of the motherboard?

If not you could drop down a model and then spend the money saved on a CPU cooler.

Not at all. I'm really not sure about the motherboard, not particularly clued up on the latest lot of them. I selected that one because it seemed to have most of the features and an 8+4 power phase which I figured is better for overclocking. Not sure if that is just with amd boards though.

1 x Antec P280 Super Midi Tower Case - Gun Metal Black £84.98

Gone with a cheaper motherboard. It should still get you an overclock up to around 4.6GHz, this is the point where you hit the limit of most of these CPUs with air cooling.

I have gone with an OEM CPU as its on offer this week and used the money saved to get a CPU cooler. The CPU is not supplied with one, it is supplied in just a plain box, also you lose part of the warranty, 1 year as opposed to 3, but CPUs very rarely fail.

Hi,
Thanks, that looks great.

I have a Coolermaster Hyper 212+ cooler in my current system so it makes sense to reuse that if possible. Does anyone know off hand if it is compatible with LGA1155? On some parts of their website it says it is and on others it says it isn't.

EDIT: Okay, looks like it is. Thanks!
