I'm looking for a sat nav unit with full pda capabilities.
My two options so far are...

1)
Ipaq HX2490 = £210
Holux GPSlim 236 = £55
Tomtom 6 GB on sd = £58
Car mount = £25
Total = £348

2)
HP IPAQ RX 5935 = £242
Total £242

Big difference between the two prices and while it would be beneficial to have everything built into the one unit on the 5935 I do prefer the style of the HX2000 models.

Any recommendations or alternatives I should consider?

Apologies if I'm not supposed to mention this...

Its direct from the HP store. If your using HP for consumers its £289 and if you subscribe to HP's mailing list they'll give you £40 off. I think its slightly cheaper on the business site

Mio P350 - built in GPS, QVGA - ~£180
Mio P550 - bu8ilt GPS, BT & wifi (802.11bg), QVGA - ~£240

These are the two models I looked at before I bought a Mio A701 (GPS, BT and phone) last year.

Lots more PDA's with built in GPS (eg. Fujitsu Loox N5xx) and PDAphones (Mio, Eten, HTC) available now from ~£300

2 years ago I bought a Mio 162 from Somerfield for £110, stuck tomtom on it and it has GPS built in - still going strong :)

You needn't spend much at all really, just get something that runs windows mobile with gps onboard.

Same here (well branded as Median as it was from Aldi) with TomTom and its been great. Never let me down.

Even the cheepie software that came with it was decent enough.

Get a Dell Axim X51v with the VGA screen. Tomtom is so much nicer on a VGA screen.

It is nicer, but when I tried (TT5) the text was a little too small to be easily read whilst driving.

Just got an XDA Orbit from o2 this week for my upgrade, built in GPS, got TomTom 6 on it now and a cradle this morning from ebay. Great solution, as it means I dont have to carry a phone and a PDA and its always on me.
