spec me php website for my friend

hi guys

my friend just got back home from his second world trip, he took at least 1,000 pictures of very interesting places round the world.

he would like me to setup a website for him, i looked at wordpress, it's not what he wants.

something he can write a story on each country he visisted, with photos.

list of country on the left panel, sub-menu etc, he dont want anything like 'web plog'

something like:

world trip 2008-
.....................North Korea
.....................South Korea
.....................New Zealand-
.......................................North Island
.......................................South Island

World Trip 2009-
......................South Korea
......................Peru
......................Mexico

etc etc

also had a look at joomla, it's way over complicated

You could create it yourself, as gallary sites are pretty simple to code, even in php.

You could also try the numerous pre built scripts around for creating galleries.

http://www.plogger.org/ for example is pretty straight forward and easy enough to edit.

i actually got plogger on my website, it's good but lacking of story entery. he doesnt really want dedicated gallery website. it's more of mix story and gallery, if you know what i mean. perhaps 100-200 words with 10 - 20 pics for each entery
