Right i have a friend who is looking to to get a pc and im the lucky guy to build it yay! well she is a musican and will be making music using mixers and a keyboard, all connected via USB and Firewire. She wants to make music and do video animation. The only thing that i dont need it a monitor as she wants to connect it to her 40" TV.
The program she will be using is Logic and its a massive 34GB program lol. Well she has about £1000 to spend and this does not include anything else except the PC itself and a keyboard and mouse.
She needs a smallish case that is plain and is either white, silver or shiney black.
I have looked around and i have made my own little spec and see what you guys fink.

Thermaltake VB1000SNS Soprano SuperMidi Tower - Silver

Enermax Pro 82+ 625W EPR625AWT ATX2.3 Silent PSU

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 LGA775 'Yorkfield' 2.50GHz 6MB-cache - Retail
Samsung SpinPoint F1 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (HD103UJ)

Asus DRW-2014L1T 20x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer Lightscribe ReWriter - OEM
Scythe Card Reader & Floppy Drive - Black

What do you think?

Looks good, although does she really need a 4870 for music production? Might be able to drop that down a bit and get a faster Quad.

well the ddr3 is for the prgrams she will be using, i was tempted 2 get 4gb ddr2 800mhz..... or maybe 8GB as there will be a lot of editing etc.

Aslo the cpu i was going for a more updated version but if that will be fine then i like it ;) cheaper is beter haha

im very interested in a 4850 but would it handle the 40" tv and video editing????

Yeh it will. I presume the resolution would be 1280x720, which isn't a lot to recent cards, especially as it's just going to be desktop work. As for video editing, it'll all be CPU usage anyway, the graphics card wont come into it at all.

Is it Logic Studio she uses? From what I've seen, the latest version is Mac only so is it an older version she's using?

EDIT: Yeah, it looks like only the pre 2003 version runs on PCs. That's worth checking as there's no point building a PC when she needs a Mac!
