Hi there, im looking to upgrade before I go back to uni and therefore I need a nwe computer. I am on a computing course, and therefore will need to use the computer for programming, video editing, music editing, and some gaming (mainly ut2004, but also new games), (max settings not important but would be nice if I could!)

I dont need k/b, mouse or monitor or speakers, i just basically need

processor (conroe/am2 (if its any good?))
mobo
gfx card
case (quiet if poss)
a power supply
hdd (pref 250gb SATA)

hopefully I would like to keep it under £600 if possible :confused: ??

thanks to anyone who will spec me and any comments suggestions welcome :D

what about RAM? a typo perhaps?

Processor I would suggest conroe over AM2

Mobo: asus or gigabyte with the conroe...

Gfx : possibly a 7600gt

case: lian li pc7+ or antec slk3000b (best bet is asking in case thread) i think the latter case comes with a psu..

hdd : seagate or samsung

hows that sound?

if you really wanna go AM2 then we can go into more details with parts etc same with conroe..

Yeah i would really prefer conroe if the budget allows it as i know they are very good.....
 
To be honest no, because I'm not too confident in that department plus I don't really have the time/patience :)

ONLY thing I'd change with that is go for a DG3/DG4 motherboard, unless its just too much for you to streach that little bit more. well worth it.
