Can you please do me a spec for a Core duo 2 machine.

My budget is 550 (ill go above if you really think it could make a difference)

I use internet, office, photoshop. 3D RENDERING (IMPORTANT). A few games. And i encode a lot of videos.
I like to have lots open at a time, so it needs to be a good multi tasker,

and its needs to be pretty upgradable.

Thanks. (btw just the system, no monitor etc :D)

EDIT : Oh, i forgot to say a couple of things, i will definitely be overclocking, and i need a case and psu in that price :P, thanks again.

Another £50 gets you an X1800XT well worth it.

it is a lot over yor budget, but for what you want it about fits, my spec is about £100 more, but it has a mobo :D

just a few preference changes, zalman cooler for your CPU...i like zalman, and a sony DVD drive...same price, just a better brand

lol.

Thanks for your help guys. I think ill get that spec, and i might pay the extra for the X1800XT.

I think ill buy that lot, and then ill ugrade a bit more when i have the money. Maybe get a raptor? would it make much of a difference?

Oh, and i got a question about RAM mhz, what is the highest you can get at the moment? and will having only 800mhz max on my motheroard hold me back when i want to upgrade?

Oh and i dont have a clue about ram timings either, so can you explain that aswell lol.

Thanks :P

can you get over a 1000 yet. I heard it being talked about a while ago. But im not sure whether they are out yet

mobo change looks fine, and it used to say under the allendale that reports from toms hardware of an overclock of 2.4mhz...correct me if im wrong anyone...and the zalman should be able to handle the heat fairly well
