Hi,

got about £400 to spend on a new build already got a tower, dvd drive, monitor, os, and other perihperals. All i need is a mobo, cpu, hdd, ram and gfx card. Be used mainly for gaming and work, play games like company of heroes, cs:s and cod4.

Was gonna go with intel this time aftr being a life long amd user but heard the intel chips dont like steam?

Do you need a PSU? Will you be overclocking?

Steam? I haven't heard of any problems regarding Intel and Steam, or any other Valve software for that matter.

If you can wait for the new Intel chips to drop it would be advantageous to do so. :)
 
seems a very strange theory of intel and steam not working. Sounds like a seriously miss informed person or a serious fan boy of amd saying that one lol.

What are the Ds3l boards like? ive been out of the loop for a few weeks and it appears all new things are popign up. Do they have much of an overclocking capability? I wondered if it may not have north bridge voltage options etc and may not be able to handle high FBS.

Although you say you dont awnt to overclock its really simple to do when your told. people are just put off because of the name and not really understanding what it envolves. I showed a friennd who had no idea nd he caught on really quickly and now has his q6600 at 3.6ghz instead of 2.4ghz.
