Need some advice. I havent bought a gfx card since the 8800GTS 320mb was first released. Im looking at building a SB rig with a 1920 x 1200 native res monitor (size and brand yet to be decided).
Im after reasonably performance for RTS and FPS games, but Im not fussed if I dont have everything maxxed out with AA etc. As long as I get a decent frame rate on a high setting (if that makes sense).
I originally planned a 6870 but got told I should go with a 6950 instead as it would make a huge difference. What do you guys think? Any specific type, Im aware you can flash certain 6950's to 6970's. Cheers :)

If you would rather save a few quid then go for the 6950 and flash it to the 6970 or at least just unlock the shaders only if there is any problem with the memory timing from 6950 to 6970 as they have different memory.

If you don't mind spending a few extra bucks, then get the GTX 570.

I think the 6950 is your best bet here, as for 230 ish quid you are getting a card that unlocks to the same performance as a 300 quid one :)
