spec me please

Hi everyone im new here but have been lurking around for a while.

Just wondering if any of you guys could spec me a new system, budget is around £450 and I already have a 1TB hard disk, a cpu cooler (arctic freezer 13) monitor, keyboard and mouse. Im not much of a gamer(except for football manager) and mainly intend to use this machine for programming, photoshop, stata and the usual studenty stuff.

Slightly over I'm afraid. If you want to get it under you can downgrade the Z77 motherboard to H61 chipset.

cheers smoogles, just been told by a friend that i can get a free copy of windows 7 from my university.

would that allow me to get a overclockable i5?

I beleave it would come to £485 with the i5 3570K. I may be wrong, my maths is terrible ^^

Ah cool, is there much difference between the 2500k and the 3750k?

The 3570k is slightly quicker in performance.

Interesting. Think I may just go for the 3750k as I presume it will be a better long term solution.

Will I need to purchase the cables separately? What tools will I need to install everything correctly?

You should not need to upgrade for a while with the 3570k cpu

All the cables needed should come with the Motherboard, they tend to supply 2 - 4 SATA leads.

Does your AC7 cooler come with the bracket for 1155 socket?
