Hi, wondering if you can help. I'm looking to build a new system.

I need a cpu (must be an i7), motherboard, ram, cpu cooler, psu, and a full tower case.

I already have a graphics card (gtx 970), dvd drive, and ssd.

The system will be mainly used for gaming with some video encoding here and there.

No idea what cpu socket path to take for my needs. I do however plan to upgrade to SLI maybe in the future, so psu will need to accommodate this.

Case needs good airflow and ventilation.

Budget is around £1000

I look forward to your suggestions. :)

The H60 is not going to be as good as a good air cooler, the H100 etc will due to the larger radiator.

RAM speed makes little difference.

OK - have been doing some reading on X99 2011-V3 motherboards, and it seems a few have issues with the bios etc. Is there a particular board that does not have these types of issues out-of-the-box? I get the feeling it is going to be a lottery.:(

I saw some posts on USB issues with msi boards and a couple of the Asus boards having bios issues. I think they were resolved with bios updates, but seeing that made me feel more cautious over which motherboard to get.

Anyway, I just noticed Overclockers are doing some new 'defcon' bundle deals which have everything over clocked and preconfigured, so that might alleviate some of my concern knowing that I don't to worry so much about configuring everything.
