Spec me please

STX is better than U7 (which is very good) but does cost significantly more, so up to how much you want to spend really.

What is it being used for? The SB Z is a very capable card, so unless you are finding it lacking you may not see easily noticeable gains from upgrading.

Music production Rids , she will be using FL Studio Producer 12

In that case I would go with an audio interface rather than a sound card (internal or external) as they tend to have high latency, which can cause delay and timing problems when recording.

Something like the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 should do you nicely.

OK thanx Rids :)..I had to get her FL really as she has been using Audacity ( she does not want anyone to know that though )to make the music shes been doing

If you're using FL Studio with samples and a USB keyboard then the STX would be more than fine but if you're recording vocals or live instruments then an audio interface is what you want.

In either case you would want to be running in ASIO mode to keep the latency as low as possible.

Cheers again Rids :)...just gotta sort out the " crackling/ brrr " noise in FL first..before we actually get to do anything with the software itself lol...it might be her CPU ...shes using a 4670 ?..i think, sorry to be a pain :(
