hi could anyone help me with a build... it's for an elderly man who just wants to use it for internet use and publisher only.. budget £200.. any help would be very much appreciated
The SFX size PSU is simply because it's the cheapest with a 3 year warranty.
To be honest, there are pre-built Lenovo's for around the same cost, which even include Windows and a DVD drive (lacking in this spec) and 8GB RAM, even if no SSD.
If you start a thread in the private Customer Service forum, and ask if OcUK can assemble B-Grade/spare parts laying around they'd like to get rid of, and provide you with the minimum spec required and 3 year warranty, who knows. Might be worth a try and mutually beneficial (unless they feel it's just not worth their time or something). It may even be possible to get that 120GB SSD new, and the rest of the stuff B-Grade/spare. As long as it's all covered with the minimum 3 year warranty which typically comes with any OcUK pre-built/custom build, it shouldn't really matter. Title it something like: "Can OcUK build me a B-Grade PC for £200?", and tell them what it's for and what you already have/don't need.
The suggestion above is a great one; alternatively, there are plenty of refurbished PC suppliers around and you can pick up used 3-5 year old PCs that will do this job absolutely fine.
(apologies for mentioning non-ocuk as a supplier, but it's really quite a niche case)
