Hey i'm just wondering someone could give me a little help on building a new computer :) My budget is £700
I'm after one that has a processor of 4Ghz+ and with 16-32Gb ram!
I don't game a much as i used to on the pc but i would slo like the option to do so if i ever wanted too!

Here's just something i was looking at:

___________________________________________________________________

I also checked out one the vibox systems which had

AMD FX4170 4.4Ghz Quad Core Processor
32Gb DDR3 Ram 1333Mhz CL9 Latency
2TB Sata II wasn't labeled by name though!
Radeon HD 7870 2GB
Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3
600W PSU Not labelled on brand!
Samsung Dvd Rw
Vibox Shark Case
That was going for £704

Any input what so ever would be greatly appreciated :)

You say you do not game often now. What do you do? Might be better looking at the AMD side of things dependant on your needs.

Yeah that's quite nice. The PSU and case is out of stock which is why I went with the Bequiet, I own the 630W version which is great, he won't need more than 500W.

Not sure I trust the Teamgroup RAM as much as kingston or Geil. The heatsink is ok for the price, just shows that saving £5-10 here and there adds up in the end to help boost the GPU budget for example as you have done. Nice spec mate :D

If the OP intends to use more than 16GB of RAM he would need not only a 64bit OS but the Pro version too. Just get that in there now lol

AMD runs too hot and consumes too much juice.

He wants to overclock the AMD 8320 pulls more power from the wall at stock than the i5K does overclocked.

Intel really is his best option and he really should grab the i5K whilst on offer as it helps pay for a decent heatsink to overclock it. If he does video encoding then quicksync helps quite a bit, providing the software he has supports it. Obviously GPUs can be used to boost the process too

Yeah a couple of items out of stock, but if the op isnt in a huge rush the free p+p helps :D I was gonna spec the Kingston RAM, but they sneaked the price back up :D

Yeah I forgot to sign in for the free P&P....Doh! Edited my spec to include it, pointed out the 16GB Geil dragon kit which brings my spec pretty much bang on £700. If he isn't a hardcore gamer the GB Windforce 7850 will be good enough especially with an overclock :)

I look forward to seeing how he balances the budget now :D

thx very much everyone for your input! i have been wracking my brain thinking what to do with the budget i had. I might be able to take the budget up to £850
After looking at your ideas i have put this together:

i'm not 100% i like the case.. i wanted something similar to the case i have now (Antec 1200)

Also the graphics cards have got me big time! Do i go with the one in the basket or this one that was advised too: Sapphire HD 7870 XT 2048MB

Has anyone any possible suggestions on a better case that supports usb 3.0 ;)

Case is personal preference fella. Don't get the "core" Shinobi though as it lacks fans, has no grill or badges etc It's just the shell you are meant to "pimp".

YOUR BASKET
1 x Corsair Carbide 500R Midi Tower Case - Black/White £99.95
1 x Corsair Carbide 300R Mid Tower Windowed Case - Black £69.98
1 x BitFenix Shinobi USB3.0 Gaming Windowed Case - Black £59.99
Total : £251.34 (includes shipping : £17.85).

This Shinobi has the window and 2 fans fitted. The Corsair 300R is a popular alternative. the 500R might be pushing your budget

Id go with the corsair 300r, windowed if you want one. If you don't want a window, the 200r will be cracking.

Your new spec is very good. 7950 seems a bit expensive for a 'casual gamer'.. Id go for a 7850 and save yourself £70. That can be put towards an ssd.

Sound advice bud, that's why I had the 7850 in my spec. Did my best to balance it to the £700 for his needs.

He said upto £850 now but I'm trying not to spend all his cash

I wold go with the lower graphics card but when i do come to gaming on the pc i want it to be flawless without any lag or glitches what so ever,So i think i will stick the 7950 ;)

I was very tempted on the Corsair Carbide 300R Mid Tower Windowed Case

would you think that this card:

HIS HD 7950 IceQ BOOST 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

Would fit in this case??

In-Win Mana 136 Midi Tower Case - Black [Mana 136 black]

If it would the extra saved on the case i could put these in too:

Cooler Master 12cm Sickleflow Blue LED System Case Fan
