Gonna have £200 - £250 to spend in a couple of weeks.

Got a DFI SLI-DR Expert, and I'm after some compatible RAM that's stable, but will overclock nicely.

Currently using 2GB GeIL Value, but that falls over and dies when I try to raise anything, also occasionally crashes when a lot is going on (BF2 a fair few times) and I'm now after something that, well... doesn't do the aforementioned.

Ta.

A quick scan through OcUK points me to...

OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC4000 Dual Channel Platinum Series EB-DDR CAS3 (OCZ5002048EBPE-K) (MY-058-OC)

The fact it's rated PC4000 should allow you to run the FSB at 250 (I think?), which just means that you'll be relying on your CPU clocking past that point :)

But I really don't know much about memory.

Actually, the 2nd choice on the Mushkin selection looks fantastic - £182 for a 2GB kit of PC4000 - slightly slacker timings than the OCZ, but I wouldn't worry about that.

Or you could get the Corsair 3500LL.

Mine is stable at [email protected] at 2.6V, have spoken to another few people as well and they all seem to be getting around the same results. :)

Thats the best I got out of mine, they didnt give any memtest errors at that speed, but any higher and my CPU started going belly up. I run everything stable at 250MHz now:)

I get similar results as Street with mine. At CAS2 they can still manage 236 at 2-3-2-5. They can hit 280+ 3-4-4-8 but i've not bothered experimenting with 1:1 too much at the tighter timings/lower speed fit in better with my overclock.
