Spec me some alloy wheels

Due to frequent trips up to Scotland during the winter last year I bought a set of winter tyres for my passat estate. I've now decided that I would prefer to have a dedicated set of wheels with them on rather than going through the process of paying to have my tyres swapped and wheels balanced twice a year (should have probably bought the tyres and wheels at the same time but hey ho...)

Any suggestions? The winter tyres are yokohama 235 45 r17.

I'm planning on keeping this car for a few years as a daily driver/work horse with something more fun for the weekend. While its already a bit of a dull car I don't want it to look rubbish. I don't want wheels that look like they have been chosen by a sixteen year old to chav up a nova. I don't really know much about wheels, brands etc. Hence seeking advice.

Help greatly appreciated. :-)

Only image I had of the car...

Why not just get another set of VW (or even Audi) wheels - plenty of styles available, and should be able to pick up used at a decent price.

Think you're worrying too much about what looks daft/chavy and what doesn't :) get a set of alloys you like, that I'm your opinion suit the car and be done with it.

TBH I would get another set of Passat alloys of some sort that you like, then you wont need to tell your insurance you're using aftermarkets. Have a look on some VW/Passat forums for sale sections for them. Got a second set of 17" for my civic in mint condition with some decent tyres on for £200 when I was looking
