Well I've got a new matress now, it's memory foam and spring, I had no idea a matress could possibly be this comfy, I've always had cheap ones which are terrible in comparison.
I've decided new duvet and pillow are on the cards seeing as i've had the same duvet and pillows since i've had a bed.

I want to get something decent that'll last me years, not too warm a duvet as I sweat a lot.
I have no allergies to feathers or anything like that.

What do the wise men of OCUK recommend?

For pillows you want Hungarian goose feather. They are about £40 a pop but totally worth it. Bought my first pair grudgingly on advice 2 years ago and it's all I will use from now on. I take it with on holidays or the inlaws as sleeping on anything else feels like sleeping on sharp rocks :p

Look at investing in a proper duvet cover. Hotels use covers with a 200 thread count which will do, I would recommend getting a 400 thread count minimum with 800 preferable. Egyptian cotton is what you want. It creases a lot but totally worth it.

As for duvets. You want to look at the ToG rating. If you sweat I would look at 10 ToG max. The higher the ToG the warmer the actual duvet. I use a 'summer duvet' year round as I'm always hot. As for fillings, I use Hungarian goose down (Again) as it's nice and light and you don't feel bogged down.

I take my sleep serious so I've done my research :D

Aye Egyptian cotton's great. I have a not so great set and a really good set. I'm guessing the nicer one is such because of a higher thread count.

Any links for Egyptian stuff?

Regulus is absolutely spot on, Hungarian goose down duvets and pillows are the most luxurious as they are the softest and lightest available, plus they'll last the longest as less feathers in them (down is more durable than feathers, as the quills break down into dust over time). But they are a bit pricey, so if you don't mind a bit of extra weight I would recommend a goose down duvet. We opted for the 4 seasons duvet - which is basically 2 duvets - a 9 tog and a 4.5 tog (for summer). You can button them together to make a 13.5 tog if needs be - but we basically sleep under the 9 tog most of the time and it's absolutely fine.

I too love down pillows and wouldn't choose anything else for myself.

I would also recommend you get a cotton mattress protector to protect your new mattress. Afterall it's much easier to clean a mattress protector than a mattress. Plus, as it's totally natural, it's totally breathable, so you don't overheat.

I too am really fussy when it comes to bedding. I LOVE MY BED and often find I sleep really badly when I stay at friends houses as the bedding isn't quite right and I usually get too hot.

Pillows - Siberian Goose Down/Feather from John Lewis.
Duvet - Hungarian Goose Down from Harrods (wait until one of the sales).

I recommend http://www.duvetandpillowwarehouse.co.uk - had a great experience ordering with them and they're pretty cheap too :).

I got this duvet, paid about £20 more for it too before the sale .

Both the pillow and duvet came in its own zippable bag which is really handy if you want to store them safely.

Already got a cotton mattress protector, used it to keep the thick of blankets in place on my old one, they basically stopped any exposed springs from stabbing me :D

Going for a nose around rosebys if it's still there, see what kind of down they do.
