i have a gigabyte ud7 x58 with an intel i7 950, 6gb of 1866 dominator ram.i have a h50 - 1 cooler. im new to overclocking and have been to this sub forum before, ive always failed at overclocking it with voltage uppages as it always ALWAYS bsods. i wonder if people with really good knowledge or people with my exact hardware could post up a list of bios settings and what i should change then to, this means everything from qpi pll right down to ram timings right down to uncore right down to c1E settings.

hope to push this to 4ghz to really speed up my redering audio. as im a sound designer and i layer sounds and render virtually all the time.

cheers.

basically i dont really know what im doing but i have a very good idea, if someone could post a bios settings template and ill key them in and then we can work from there and i can change various ones tweaking them respectively, ive done a stress test on stock and if i remember my cpu goes at around 33.c 1st core is always a little hotter, other cores go at around 34/5. c

its difficult to just give a load of numbers and hope it works, as all cpus are different, its about finding what works for you.

BSOD usually means its unstable, to fix that, either slow it down or increase the voltage.

its usually a good idea to try to just part one part at a time.
ie, try seeing how high u can get your BCLK up to. u can set the cpu multipler low and memory speeds low then increase the BCLK, 190/200 is a good figure if your aiming for 4ghz+.

once u get it running stable, then u can increase the multipler

i meant my 1st core is 34/35 and other cores are around 33/32

i just dont know where to start man, read up on it but it makes no sense cos it starts throwing in thing slike overclocking brings down mem speeds and then you have to set mem speeds and then mess with uncore, i just need some solid advice and away i go :)
