Spec me some bits for this bundle

Just about to order
1)Intel Core 2 DUO Extreme Edition X6800
2)EVGA nForce 680 PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
3)EVGA GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB, am i right in thinking that i need two of the same card for sli to work correctly.

What drives would work well in this setup,Also what memory.

Memory :

G.Skill 2GB DDR2 HZ PC2-6400 (2x1GB) CAS4 Dual Channel Kit (F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ)

£240. Was £180 when Conroe's came out! Jeez.

And Some Seagate 7200.10 320GB x2 Would be lovely in RAID. Maybe a Raptor for the OS to sit on if you can afford it!
 
For the Ram I'd suggest the Geil PC6400 instead of the GSkill as it is cheaper and as well specified.

Seagate 7200.10s are the fastest non-Raptor drives around currently although some people say they can be noisy.

And they've changed the website again, damnit.

Thats why i generally recommend Western Digital to personal friends, not the fastest, nor the slowest, but they run quiet, always..... apart from the Raptors of course.
 
Some interesting items mentioned.
I have a raptor 74 gb un opened in my draw,so was thinking of putting OS on that.
just need to decide which mass storage drives to get(in raid)
I will normaly be using machine for excel docs and games such as Doom 4
 
I now need to decide wheather to get the Intel Core 2 DUO Extreme Edition X6800 or now the Intel Core 2 Quadro Extreme Edition QX6700 , as im sure the M/B i mention'd does handle both.
The new chips are a few quid more,is there a lot of dif between them.
