Been wearing DMs for a few years now but they only seem to last about a year or so.

I don't want to get another pair so have started to look at other boots. Havnt found anything I like by CAT or just general browsing.

I want the texture of the boot to be smooth so clearing wouldnt be an issue, and not fussed if they have a toe cap or not.

Happy to spend up to £100 on something I like.

Any suggestions?

Very nice looking boot but i would ruin them lol. I'm looking for something more for everyday use, more big, heavy and brutish.

have a look at some Army Surplus? Not very stylish (there are some nice looking ones) but durable and practical if its just for working in and abusing.

Grenson are my fav's. I'd go for Trickers if I could afford it though. Grenson tops are great quality for the money and they do three soles based on your needs (Leather, Vibram foam or Rubber). RRP's are usually around £200 but they are regularly on offer for £120.

edit: Something like this?

Looking through their product list, those are possibly the most foul shoes I have ever seen :/

Did you look at the rest of the Grenson range? They have loads of boots, I think something like Ryan may be of interest?

One thing to note, you should definitely try them on first, they come up pretty big so don't be surprised if you're a size down from what you normally wear.

Depends on what style you like but R.M Williams

The best boots I have ever owned and everyone else I have spoke to who own a pair swear by them.

Comfortable and durable, I have 2 pairs as unfortunately I did not maintain my first pair. The first pair lasted 5 years they are still good to wear as a rough boot but the leather has cracks so they look messy. Other than that they are STILL water tight!

My new pair i bought due to the others looking rough and not being able to wear them for smart dress occasions.

Fantastic boots but expensive, clean and oil them and they will last you 10 years.

Out of interest, what are you using them for? My DMs always lasted years, even with daily wear.

British army goretex pro boot. I swear by them. Standard non goretex boot not so good. Also german or austrian army boots are ace.

Altberg.

Mine are coming up to 3 years old - still waterproof, still come up nice and shiny, keep my feet nice and warm and have been through all weathers - a good patrol boot.

British company as well.
