Hi all, I'm looking to replace my stock Honda CD player with something a bit prettier & better equipped, and was wondering if anyone had any specific recommendations with regards to a head unit. Front USB and Aux jack is a must, up to £100 budget. Red LEDs would be a bonus. I've spied the Pioneer DEH-3300UB, and it's at the top of the list if only because there currently IS nothing else on the list...so any opinions related directly to this unit would also be much apporeciated.

As an aside, are there any kits which will allow me to control a head unit via a control panel clipped to the steering wheel (not controls built in to it)? I remember an old colleague had something to this effect, and he had it so he could change tracks & adjust volume with his thumb...can't for the life of me remember what it was though.

Thanks in advance!

I'm not exactly sure about every model (or well any model), but check it in the shop if you like the UI with usb.

Some allow looking up a song while something is playing, others don't and you need to click next next next until you find the right song...
From the looks of it you can look up songs with the search button while it's playing but I'd double check to be sure, it's a must with USB imho, it's a **** to find the right songs within 8gb of music or so even with everything neatly in folders...

I have a DEH6200-BT, out of your price range, but I am very happy with it, way better than my old JVC and nicer ui than newer JVC radio's too ( one of my mates recently bought one, the one where you can set multiple colors for the screen & buttons, but looking up a song is crap compared to the pioneer).

One last thing I notice is it only has 1 pre-out, but I don't think you plan on having an amp soon ?

re. your last point: I believe there are, but if you car doesn't have it then I'm not sure if there's much point (lots of work?), you can buy a HU with a normal remote instead I guess and somehow attach it to your wheel... I had a remote to my old HU but pretty much never used it.

My advice is to go to a shop and play around with a bunch of them...
