As title. Our Salter flat digital scale thingy is dying a death and I'm not convinced it's particularly accurate. I'd like to upgrade to something that does decimal places on grams (?) as it's mostly used for measuring my coffee in the morning. That and pasta for our dinner, lol. Any recommendations? I don't really know what I should be looking at :o

have never found scales that have accurate <0.2g accuracy and weigh up to 5kg,
which I want for combined duty of espresso coffee and cake/dry-goods measurement,
for <0.2g accuracy they are only weighing up to 500G, or so

Have these- https://www.amazon.co.uk/Soehnle-Design-Digital-Kitchen-Scale/dp/B000NZEBJ8

If they are flat can just keep them in a draw, touch screen is not messy, and big flat surface can put a mixer bowl or (heavy) saucepan directly on.

Hvae cross-checked accuracy with lower weights by using coins .. can find their weights online

Yeah, I've got mini scales that do 0.01g to 500g for mixing my e-liquid recipes, but you're right, there doesn't seem to be any that do sub 1g to 5kg.
Hmn maybe I'll stick with ones that so 1g-500g then. I don't need 0.1g accuracy, I just thought it would be useful/possible.

I'd prefer the flat version so if we're suggesting Etekcity then these look good; https://www.amazon.co.uk/Etekcity-E...id=1547467817&sr=8-9&keywords=etekcity+scales

Is that a well-known brand or something? Or are we just going from what Amazon says...

Well, I've only seen Etekcity on Amazon but I noticed there's a couple of other brands (Uten and Cookjoy) selling identical scales to the ones I'm buying. But since Etekcity has the most reviews by a country mile and maximum stars, I'm wondering if they're producing the scales for the other companies.

Yeah I think the ones you're considering should be very good.

Just received mine. It looks snazzy and has nice clicky buttons :)

... that's why I'd go soenhle , another provider, they are £15 looks like they changed to a cr204* battery rather than 3AAA I have

I'm always suspcious of wirecutter reviews, and, usually constrain all such product searches with "+forum" , does also have a habit of throwing up OC too,

Lam’s website, the Wirecutter, has become a Consumer Reports for the digital age, albeit with a unique model -- it posts in-depth reviews of gadgets, embeds links to buy them on e-commerce sites like Amazon.com, and takes a cut of the sales. The site has a staff of about 60 and posts only a few dozen articles a month, yet it’s profitable. Last year, the Wirecutter drove $150 million in e-commerce transactions, Lam said.
not unconvinced, that they just read amazon reviews to build their own

I think which might be good ... and maybe, you pay for independant reviews with your subscription,
