Hi all

I'm getting all my parts onto my wishlist before ordering, it's a small budget build and then will upgrade in the coming months

I'm looking for some good LED fans.. I was looking at Thermaltake Riing x3 pack or the NZXT AER x3 RGB... whatever I go for will be 120mm

Also in the build I will have a Corsair H55 at the rear... The case I'm going for is the Enthoo pro M window edition

Any recommendations welcome

Your using the same case I use. I do use the thermaltakes on there low rpm setting, Thry make zero nosie but they are very overpriced in my eyes.

Case looks great bud, What alternatives could you suggest for a reasonable price

I'd be wary of the Thermaltake Riing fans.

Thermaltake forums up to very recently have people complaining that the software controlling the LED effects isn't working and hasn't been for quite some time.

I was pretty gutted to read about this because I was about to kit my case out with Riing plus fans before reading about the dodgy software.

The NZXT AER fans are a good alternative but you'll need to make sure you get a HUE+ to connect them to to control the effects. Cable management is also a concern with these as the come with lots of cables to route and hide (you can daisy chain them but each fan must also be connected to a fan header/splitter).

Only other option I've seen are In Win Aurora fans, they daisy chain and require a lot less cabling. The only problem is I think they've decided to supply them with the In Win 303 case so atm I don't think you can buy them separately.

Also note that nzxt uses CAM software and its one of the worse programs i've used, ever.

If you go for Riing dont buy the software ones, get the ones with the little 3 button controller, thats the ones i have.

Not good to hear that mate, Thanks for the heads up... I see OCUK sell the fans and HUE+ as a bundle.. its a shame you can't buy Aurora fans separate they would be ideal..

There seems to be a lot of small issues noted with both sets of fans here.. maybe I'd be best just to get some Corsair SP120's and just put LED strips around the case
