Hi all,

Ive been looking and am pretty set on a C63 AMG S, but what else am I missing. £600 a month is my max really, I currently drive a Ranger Wildtrak which ill be keeping for work, but I want something fun and quick back in my life.

BMW M4 was a thought, but the interior leaves me feeling like im in an older car and doesn't seem to up to date.

I love the sound of the V8 AMG so Ideally I want noisy and quick.

Any other options before I go and have another drive in the c63

To give you an idea I pay less than £500 a month on the SVR, of course I did drop down a sizeable deposit and I've got it on a 3yr term, whereas at the end I can give it back or pay the final figure.
As I actually really like the car I am actually planning to settle the finance on it this year and keep it or should I make the decision to change it I will have zero hassles with selling privately or any finance niggles.

So £600 a month can get you into something proper quick if your gonna drop down a big deposit.

I'd be looking at F-Type SVR, AMG GTS or maybe consider something a bit older but more special if you have a daily you can use like say an F430 or maybe Gallardo LP550-2, cars which will probably not lose any value or maybe a Cayman GT4, of course assuming you have a 30-40k deposit to put down.

Noisy & quick?

Follow Gibbo’s lead, F-Type SVR, given his past steeds and his undoubtedly strong love of his what more recommendation do you need? :D

surely that depends on your deposit? how much are you planning to drop down on it?

if you have a deposit of 1k you'll struggle to get anything super juicy.

Surely it would be better to say buy a used C63 from Mercedes that is just a year or two old, using same payment/finance options but that way you get the same car for a lot less money, unless having a brand new car really means something to you, but to me it makes no sense.

If I had purchased mine brand new I think the OTR price was around 130k, now of course Jaguar give quite large discounts on brand new cars so catch them in a good mood and that could be 100-115k, but even then I got mine a year old and paid 80k, most cars get hit the hardest depreciation wise in that first year.

When I was looking and seeing if they could find me another SVR in same specification, same colour they were offering me 72.5k trade in on my car which in fairness is not bad at all to lose under 10k on it and of course they'd no doubt advertise it around 77k, due to the specification, been most desirable colour etc.
Unfortunately they simply could not find me a car, best they could offer was an SVO special order colour in a darker blue for 100k, it had delivery miles, ceramics, but did not have carbon packs or carbon roof. But it was simply an instant no from me I just did not like the colour.

I am now pretty much decided on keeping mine unless a very good offer comes along, but even then by settling the finance I feel if one does come along it puts me in a stronger place anyway if I own my current one and its got a solid value of 75-80k, then if they did find me a car that was say 90k, I could simply take their offer and just pay difference in cash.

My point is in the end if the whole brand new car, doing the build sheet is not so important, then don't essentially throw 10-20k away, just buy a year old example with some nice options for less money still using similar finance, like 10k deposit, £600 a month over a term that pleases you and a balloon your happy with.

I think at this point we don't know if we are talking new/used and how much deposit. It's hard to make suggestions really.

True we need to know max deposit, max monthly payment, max term and max balloon payment.

Id be looking around 15k - 20k down on it.

The £600 a month get the C63 S for that. £600 would be max really before pushing myself thin, i always wanted super car at 30, and that was my goal. but I'm not quiet going to get to that figure i don't think. Who knows if business keeps going as well it may happen in another year or so.

I considered the F Type but couldn't find anything on the money.

The thing with second hand is the interest is around 11% compared with 5% on a new one, that almost levels the difference

I got 5.54% from Jaguar, you have to battle with them on the interest also. ;)

Yes some dealerships wanted 8-12% but HA Fox Chester really did me a good deal, we started at 8% with a blanket they can't go lower, but in the end it was 5.54%, just got to battle with them.

Maybe I got lucky.

Also Jaguar like Porsche a used car pretty much has there as new car warranty, not that it really matters anyway if your buying a car just a year old as its got remainder of manufacturer warranty anyway.
