Spec me some games

Hi, I've been out of the loop on PC games for a while as my system was out of date so I was mostly playing nintendo and a bit of xbox one. I have a new build's worth of parts coming tomorrow.

What are the must play games of late (or last year or so as I haven't played them)? I like FPS games but not exclusively. What should I be playing? Games I love are half life, far cry, crysis etc. I like a single player FPS although online is welcome.

Is the Witcher 3 as good as people say? I haven't played an witcher games, is that an issue?

Neither really. It does it's own thing....it's more along the lines of System Shock.

Yes, its fantastic, my number one game of all time and has truck loads of accolades so plenty agree. It would be nice to know the background story of the first few games to understand what happens at some parts in Witcher 3 and who some characters are, but not essential. A brief plot synopsis read of prior two games if you do not play them is usually enough.
