Hi,

I have to help fun a few fun tasks for around 120 graduates at my company during an induction week.

They're a mixture of engineering, finance and buisiness students.

They are being split up into groups of 15-20, and will rotate through tasks of approx 15 minutes in length. After which they will be judged/get points.

I've been given the 'engineering' style tasks to come up with.

Has anyone done anything similar that they enjoyed doing, that was kinda differant?

One idea i've had is to give each group two differant tents. But take some of the pieces out, and add a few extra ones into the other one. I will then tell them to split themselves into two teams - quickest group to get both tents up wins.

Sometimes the enjoyment of a thread comes from the fact that you know exactly what is going to happen as soon as you read the OP. Case in point : first word, second post :D

When I was at uni they gave us a challenge to build the strongest bridge using stuff like lolly sticks, string, straws, etc. Then we tested them to destruction - that was pretty fun.

I'd still vote for the orgy and/or sexbots though ;-O

Its a technology based company, so there will be electronic, mechanical, aeronautical, chemical, software engineers. Along with general business and maths based subjects. The odd person who studied finance and law too.

The tasks dont really have to be relating to what the company physically does. But they should be more hands on tasks.

I've previously done tower building with paper (to see how many cans of beans you can hold) which was quite good.

Im just interested if anybodys done something particularly differant.

Get them to turn one of their number into a quadrotor device. Longest in the air wins. Like that stuffed cat recently. Put video on YouTube.
