Spec me some headphones

So I just broke the cable on my phones I'm after some in ear headphones, not the actual in canal ones, you know what I mean.
Got a max budget of about £50 want something with a long cable as I am quite tall and put my mp3 in my pocket. Plus obviously good sound quality.

Spec away people.

(nothing noise cancelling, I got shure E4's for monitoring purposes but I prefer to hear whats going on around me in the street)

I;ve got some Sony MDR-EX70LP's and they deliver really good sound quality. :-)

I have Sennheiser CX300s which are really good and cheap, would probably be considered noise cancelling though.

I have Sennheiser 515's which are exactly on your budget, I think they are the best thing since sliced bread.

Audiophiles seem to poo poo them, but I can't actually fault them. They drop my friend's jaws.

Can I clear up I don't want anything poking into my ear canal but I want in ear.

What open full back phones? Sennhesier PX-100.

they are in ear phones (which the op said he didnt want...dont know why though :confused:

, they pwn!!)

noise cancelling earphones are the ones with microphones with them(noise reduction earphones are considered better than them by most). the microphone records background noise and the earphones 'cancel it out'

does that mean the cx300 is acceptable but earphones like pretty much all of the shure range are unnacceptable??

I've got some fantastic Technics RP-F200 Hi Fi Headphones. The bass is tremendous on the thing. When I put them on I cannot hear external sounds either! For only £15 it was a steal. It's got a 3.5mm jack and it's also got the adapter for the larger jacks.
Can't recommend it enough tbh.

^he wants headphones that let in ambiant sounds.

I have the standard white ipod headphones and cant tell the difference between those and plugging in my barracudas
