Hi all,

I have got a Focus MP3 2003. Now I want to try to keep me original stereo, maybe uprate my front speakers and add a sub. Was hoping for a 4 channel amp so I can hook up the sub and the new front speakers. I will be leaving the rear speakers wired direct to the stereo. Im new to this so can someone help me out?

Thanks a lot

PS Dont want to spend a fortune :p

:D oh how funny!

LAL!

Anyways I may be doing something similar though shopping around for adapters and converters in the usual Halfords/Les Smith etc turned up many  (£17 for a ISO lead???) In the end I found the same products by Autoleads on ebay for a couple of £ :p

Now to hunt for a mp3 head unit that suits a n e46 and an amp!

why on earth are you going to keep the original stereo yet spend money on a 4 channel amp, speakers and a sub?

I think you'll only be able to connect the amp up using speaker cable from the HU. (can't remember if it's high or low level connections).

You won't be able to run RCA's from it.

Bite the bullet and spend £130 or so on a decent enough unit to run the rest of your kit.

What about a Speaker out to RCA converter?

what's your budget?

Are you worried about changing the ford unit for any reason? You can get blanking plates which do a great job of covering the hole.

for about £500 you can get a HU, 4channel amp, comp and sub......will sound so much better than the same money spent on speakers and amp ect and you keeping the ford unit.

I've done pretty much the same in my wife's Escort - threw away the crappy standard head unit, Alpine headunit coupled with infinity speakers.

I've always said Alpine rock - they're the best imo ;)

What ever you do - DONT get Halfords to fit it, would'nt trust those monkey's to put air in my tyres
