I am looking to get a few upgrades for my sound system in my car, and am setting a budget of around £450.

For this i am looking at getting some 6.5" components, a 10" sub and a new head unit.

The head unit need to have the RCA out(i think it is this:confused:) so i can connect it to the amp still though!

Thanks

Ive got a Vibe 10" sub amp combo, very good package. Are you looking to connect an iPod or anything like that to the head unit ?

Ignore the Vibe combo comments, they are chav lads Subs. If you want bass most of that budget will be taken by the amp and sub alone.

Already got an amp, and got a sub but some how it has got a 3" crack along the cone so i want to replace it

You could either go with this headunit, with these speakers...

or these speakers and this headunit which features seperate front, rear and subwoofer pre-outs, not to mention a USB input!

Leaves a fair whack for a decent sub/amp combo, decent cables and bit of sound deadening.

I've not looked at car audio for a few years but reading these recent threads is really making me want to spend some money :(

I've got a 12" Directed Audio sub in my car which unfortunately came to blows with my toolbox. It has a pretty hefty crack along the cone. I'm going to try patching it up with araldite. If it's a decent sub, I'd look into trying a cheap fix before replacing it.

I really don't think he wants that much power just for his sub.

edit... Love the Max Power: 800W

Now I remember why I like car audio so much! 10,000w MAX, y0! ;)

I have been looking at the rainbow speakers off a recommendation of a friend.

And btw.... I have already got an enclosure and an amp, that is to every one..

and nout wrong with sony xplods....part from the 3" crack in mine!

What amp do you currently have?

If you're spending a lot on speakers, I'd get another for the front speakers and then use a dedicated mono-block for the sub.

a mutant 480sp i think it is. Tis a good enough amp for the sub at the minute, and works, so that doenst need replacing in my opinion :p

sony are budget ICE thats why they crack when driven by a proper amp. My cousin had a 12" Sony and wanted my spare Kicker mono amp to drive it. It lasted about 2 weeks.

If you want budget stuff then as esk has stated Halfords is the place to go.

Halfords are over priced to be honest :p

and the sub broke on a 160w rms amp.... says on reviews that the sub is a 400w rms...it just breaks when you try it :p

just need an aux in and cd

and not being funny, i just dont like the bay that much and prefer to buy from actual shops, as it is car audio direct is only just up the road from me
