Hey all,

I currently have:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-095-CS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=144

I'm looking to get rid of these and bring in 4 Gigs of new RAM.

I have no idea what to look for when it comes to RAM sticks, so your dealing with quite the RAM newb :p

Nevertheless, I mostly use my PC to play games, surf the net, and do some general work.

Oh and just a quick question, since I'm upgrading from 2GB to 4GB, will I need to upgrade to XP 64bit or Vista 64bit? (As I am currently using XP Pro)

Thanks,
Marky

If you want to run with 4GB of ram you do need a 64bit os. As 32 bit only uses 3-3.5GB depending on the size of your gfx card.

As for Ram it really depends on whether you want 2x2GB or 4x1GB, whether you're overclocking, and how much you want to spend.

Okay so I'll grab the 64bit OS (Either Vista or XP :p) - Thanks for clearing that up :)

I really don't mind whether it's 4 sticks or 2 sticks - I don't intend to upgrade further than 4GB at the moment, so whichever performs better :) I won't be overclocking the RAM - but I will be overclocking the GFX and CPU (If that makes a difference - this is all on a new rig by the way, ignore my sig rig ;))
And I'd be happy to spend around £100 a little more if neccessary.

I'd still go with crucial ballistix ram clocks very well and the lifetime warranty with fast rma turnaround cant be beat imo.
Bare in mind it's still not really worth having anything over 2 gb though as very few things use or benefit over 2 gig of ram.

I just took a look and they're pretty well priced - look pretty good performance wise... thanks buddy :)
