I'm doing a stag paintball day this weekend, and though I've done it before it's due to be pretty cold one! They don't supply gloves but you can buy them on the day.

Now, I'm sure their prices are going to be more expensive than say, the rainforest, as they have a captive audience.

Can someone let me know of some decent gloves that'll keep my hands warm and fingers protected?

Also might need a decent pair of waterpoof socks!

Don't want to spend loads though, I imagine I'll be spending a fair bit on the paintballs.

I only actually own one pair of gloves already and don't really want paint over them.

So I need some anyway and I might as well get some with a bit of protection as well as keeping me warm.

Have a look on ebay/amazon for some airsoft/painball gloves, usually have a bit of padding.

Might be bit more expensive than ones from China since its short notice.

Do you really need paintbull gloves, won't any old gloves do, they won't be aiming for your hands. :D

You'll be surprised how much you get hit on the hands and fingers lol (and it really stings on bare fingers!)

I used to do airsoft a lot and most of the time I was hit on my left arm, shoulder and hands. Since that is the center of mass when your aiming out of windows and from behind cover etc.

Just get some bmx gloves and cut the 2 fingers out so you can pull the trigger.

PS. For a one off...i wouldn't bother with gloves - If you're getting paint on your hands, you're doing something wrong.

A thin pair of fabric gloves will take most the sting out of getting hit in the hand. IMHO I wouldn't bother with anything more if its just for a day, the adrenalin will save you from the worst of it :P

Ohhhh you'll get hit in the hands, specifically the little finger on your left hand, being squashed between cold metal and a paintball its gonna sting bad. Its one of those universal laws of the universe.

You dont need specific "tactical" gloves, anything warm and reasonably padded will do. Fingerless helps at least on your firing hand. If its just for the day i wouldnt bother buying anything specific. If you're a biker, motorbike gloves make for fantastic protection whilst keeping decent dexterity.

Good boots, a good belt (unless your in coveralls) and a buff/similar neck tube related thing are a help too, although only the boots are absolutely key.

The voice of experience. For me it was my right hand between my knuckles and wrist (trigger hand). Never wanted to club someone to death so bad before.

I'd just use a pair of standard gloves with the index finger and thumb ends cut off

I managed to shoot someone in the hand once, saw the gun starting to creep around the corner so just shot at it. He struggled for the rest of the day with the pain since it was a really cold day so I'd recommend getting a pair for sure. As said, a pair of padded/armoured MTB cycling gloves would be spot on. :)

I found cheap faux/real leather gloves to be ideal as the leather isnt strong enough to get ruined, the paint just wipes off, you have full grip of the gun and can use paint/smoke grenades without taking them off and also they are very warm without being ridiculously thick.

The leather seems to take 90% of the edge off the hit too. When your done with the paintball, give em a wipe and throw them in the car glove compartment for particularly chilly days.

I have some paintball ones but they are so bulky they make use of grenades impossible without messing them up and i found myself taking them off every time i wanted to adjust my helmet/clothing/check my phone/get a drink/get my wallet which is annoying because the whole day is pretty rushed (like 10 mins between games)

Get some cheap PPE gloves. Shouldn't cost more than a couple of quid, will be durable with good grip

I'd never play without gloves, especially when it's cold. Cut your trigger fingers off unless it's a mech marker (likely if you're renting) in which case you won't need to.
