I'm annoyed with the doom and gloom of PC gaming on this forum and the internet in general when the reality is, its the total opposite, so I pulled you on the comment

I haven't really played an SP FPS on PC that I have fully enjoyed and completed for a couple of years. Last game really was HL2.

I expect DNF will be the next or HL3 if that comes before Duke.

MP side of things though there are plenty, TF2, BC2, L4D2

l4d and l4d2 , I know its on xbox but the pc version is so much better and it is such a great game.

I first started playing it on the xbox but then got it cheap on steam for the pc and i have never played it again on the xbox its just not the same

oh and i dont know if its been said but STALKER is another good game

I've posted once, and re-itterating the FEAR series, although i've only played the first one, and understand that the others are just as good.

Stalker series is good, but its like marmite, if you can get past some of the control system and the way the game 'is', its a very good story, basically an FPS/RPG in the sense of the narrative content.

Crysis, is a good game tbh, it was over hyped but because i dont pay attention to media hype i enjoyed it for what it is.

Left for Dead is amazing, I cant count how many hours I have wasted on that game with friends / forum buddies.

Assasins Creed was fun, although yes on XBox.

HL2 (Dont know if you've played it)

Davewhite, I'm not moving solely to the PC, I'll still be using my 360 and Wii, I just fancy a little PC gaming too, and I'm afraid I'll be using my 360 controller too, as I'm playing on my settee, hence can't use a keyboard and mouse!

Crysis is actually brilliant with a 360 pad, I'm sure you'll love it!

Had so much fun playing this. Onslaught mode was the best. I kinda feel like playing it again but I'd imagine the UT2004 community is pretty much dead.
