Spec me some pillows

I looked into this a few years ago as I'm particular about my pillows - can't be too high or low, must be comfortable, supportive, non allergenic, breathable and hold it's shape over time.

I can certainly vouch for the Dunlopillo latex range (can't remember it's exact name but it has loads of visible holes in it, might be the Super Comfort)

Avoid if you are allergic to latex but otherwise definitely a consideration - I've had mine for over 6 years now, it's so squishy I'm dreaming about it now

I've actually just gone through the process of trying to find a decent pillow for myself (and the rest of the family) so spent a few quid bought a few different ones and some pillow protectors:

Boston Duvet & Pillow Company Essential Soft Micro-Fibre Pillows - Made locally to me, got good reviews so thought it would be worth a try, very soft and fluffy pillows but seem to hold there shape well 2 weeks on. My 6 year old son loves this, and says "it is like sleeping on a cloud". A bit too soft for me.

Love2Sleep "ULTRA FIRM" HOLLOWFIBRE NON ALLERGENIC PILLOW : TWO PILLOWS - Wife initially thought she wanted some very firm pillows, so ordered these. They do seem very firm, and are extremely well filled - turned out to be slightly too firm though after trying the Silentnight ones.

Silentnight Deep Sleep Pillow, Pack of 2 - Best pillow I have had (either of these 3, but also standard supermarket own brands, and even Silentnight's standard pillows). Firm and filled enough to be supportive, but still enough give to be fairly soft. Whilst I had a good nights sleep with the Boston Duvet one's, they required some fidgeting before I was able to get to sleep - with these, no such problem.

Silentnight Anti-Allergy Pillow Protector, Pack of 2 - Bought these (For all of the 6 pillows) as well to try and both keep the Pillows in shape, and protect them from Sweat etc to help them last a bit longer. Whilst there are cheaper protectors available, these look big enough to hold any pillow (including the extra firm one's above), and have a decent enough cushioned feel to them, that is noticeable (in a good way).

Hope this helps, although as with reading the many amazon reviews, a lot are subjective, with many people downrating pillows just because they personally felt they were too soft etc.

Dorma hungarian goose down pillow is what I use. I got fed up of spending £10-20 every 6 months on a new pillow, and since buying the Dorma one haven't changed it for years.

Tempur Cloud - £100+ for a pillow is an expensive outlay, but I have used it for 3 years and its fantastic. Would never buy anything else.

Thanks all.

Need to head into JL me thinks :(

Definatally dont do the cheap option like me and go to amazon. I got one of these 'Luxury Super Microfibre Polyester Pillow Hotel Quality' and its like being suffocated, laying on slime and being hit in the neck with a crowbar.

Ill be taking a trip to John Lewis over the next few day. My partner has a JL one and its great.

Everyone has different needs though.

My gf likes em super squishy, but I need support for my massive brai.. fat head.

I swear by the Silent Night Latex Core pillow, Mine are 6 years old and still going strong.
