I figure, having about £2500 stuff on my desk I need some surger protection/UPS.

What should I get? In an idealy world I'd like a UPS that will power the conroe pc and 2x2407s at least long enough to do a controlled shutdown.

anything around 500va to 800va should do the trick

if your only looking to shut down the computers safely then id go for the Belkin 650VA Superior Series Emergency Battery Backup (F6H650UKUNV) (UP-012-BE) which has surge protection and covers up to £80k

or if you are looking for it to last a bit longer then the Belkin 800VA Universal Series UPS (F6C800UKUNV) (UP-013-BE) is a good price, also has surge protection, has software and will last up to 45mins

What about Liebert's?

Might plump for the Belkin F6C800UKUNV... looks like a bargain!

It has three backup and 1 surge... can you run an adaptor off the surge to allow more devices to be surge protected - or does it not work like that?
