Hi guys.

As some of you will know, iv just lost 8gb of ram ! Due to a mobo fail...

Anyway, I'm looking for another 8gb of ram, and has to be 1600mhz and low profile, so no dominator !.

Budget is around the 40 - 60 mark, but cheaper the better please as funds are tiiiight.

My other specs are.

Fx6300
Hd5770
Asus m9a57 (I think lol, new board, can't remember model no :D )
Corsair a50 air cooler. So not much room !

Thanks guys :)

Too late already got some lol I can't wait :D

Had some more bad news though...

When I put new ram in, it did the same thing...
Last to slots not working..
I phoned the place I got the Asia board from thinking this cant be right.. He tells me it could be the CPU... I can't believe it lol. I don't have another am3+ board to test it so now I'm going to have to send it to and for testing and rma...

I'm proper cheeses of now. After all this Agro and spending money I don't have it was the f..king CPU .

Is there a amd rma in uk ? Or does it have Togo over seas ?
Is there a amd rep on here ?

Anyone ever had this before ?

Did they give you a new board? It's highly unlikely the CPU if two of the board slots aren't working and the other two are. If you change the RAM around is it always the same two slots?

Hi, they didn't give me a new board today.

And yes it's the same 2 slots.

This is proper ****ing me off, Shirley it can't be the board again ??

I meant was the replacement a new board or used?

It'd seem weird to have faulty RAM and then faulty RAM slots.

hi, the replacement was brand new.

and i know, im just searching the net to see if there is somthing in the bios i need to change.

when i got the board, i got them to update the bios because of the FX chip.

i wonder if this is the problem ?

It shouldn't be. Is it on the most recent BIOS now?

Two slots not working at all and the other two being fine sounds like a faulty board when you've ruled out the RAM modules being faulty.

i don't know, im not at home, i need to check to see if its the latest bios.

do you think its worth taking it back and getting it exchanged just to rule out the board?

the chances of getting another dodgy board is slim.
but then, this is me and my luck we are talking about here ! :D

what you think ?

i googled the net up and down about CPU & RAM failure, but i can't find anything, unless im searching the wrong thing. (my google searches are very straight forward lol).
