Spec me some RAM

Right then, all you memory chaps who know what you're on about, I want some new RAM

I have an Asus A8R-MVP motherboard with a X2 4200 in it. IIRC the best amount of RAM for an AMD is 2GB. I currently have 1GB of RAM.

I'm a rather avid gamer but not one who is willing to spend over £150 on some. It'd need to be 2GB of RAM and dual-channel. Not particularly bothered about the brand as long as their reliable.

I was going to get the Corsair XMS1000 (I think) but they've gone now.

That board uses DDR3200. I use Corsair 2GB DDR XMS3200C2PT TwinX (2x1GB) CAS2

Oh and another thing, when I shutdown my comp I get a memory read error. Some hex code in there also. It's always the same program that causes the error and while I'm running my comp, it doesn't seem to have an effect. Am I right in thinking that this is my RAM dying?
