Spec me some tires thread

I need to put new tyres on the C3 and Ive seen theres a weath of knowledge here when it comes to tyres.

Currently on the 3rd pair of:

Kumho Solus KH17 175/65 R14 T (82)

And although they seem ok in the dry in the wet they lack grip and they seem to wear quite fast, last set were fitted in August I think they have done about 15k miles but cannot be sure.

What would you recommend budget is up to £100 fitted (pair) no more the Kumho's were £85 last time.

The car does mainly town and M27 driving and is the 1.4HDi so its not like they need to be top spec tyres but something better than these Kumhos would be great.

I started to look at the Michelin Energy Saver but I had concerns about their performance when cold and if it was a gimic
 
Yup

Eco Contact 3, looking at camskill and blackcircles, they're around £40 each or ~£50 fitted.

Call a few local tyre places, they're a popular choice. There's also the Premium Contact 2 which are a more of a performance tyre, but they'll wear quicker.

The EC3 will be a marked improvement over the KH17's
