I'm after a new pair of trainers for casual use really. I'm not looking for an actual "trainer" as such, but a more casual style than sports style.I've been looking at the Adidas Superstars and some of the Dunlop trainers. They are quite nice, but I know sod all about trainers and what's out there, so I'd appreciate some recommendations.

If you don't want actual trainers then get some nasty skate slippers. They're supposedly really comfy and are useless for being trainers :)

If you like the Superstars then get them. They're ace. Also look at Stan Smiths :)

take a look at the Nike equivalent of the velcro stan smiths

'court tradition V' is what it says on the box, got them in white and black, black for work and school, and then white for casual dress. Very comfy, down to preference and your style of clothes etc etc

If you aren't planning on using them for running etc. then Something like Vans/Duffs are the most comfortable shoes ive had in a long time...

Don't like all that Vans stuff. Don't really want slip-ons. I still want trainers, just more casual, like most of the Adidas classic range, along those lines.

Excellent choices.

Not only are the aforementioned fat skate slippers ugly, but they're useless too!

Stick to Stan Smiths/Superstars and you won't go far wrong :)

Also, I'm not liking the Velcro ones. I'm not 4 years old anymore and I can tie my own laces :D. As for DC Shoe, I looked at those for a while and could not find a perfect pair. Decided against skate shoes now.

onitsuka tiger

nice looking, easy wearing :)

and definately not for running cos THEY HURT!

not recommended for fat feet either. And i say avoid running because the soles are about 2mm thin and over zero shock absorbsion :)
