Wasn't sure where to put this. I started doing the T25 Focus workout nearly 4 weeks ago and thought since i would just be messing about in my front room I would use my old nike air shocks. They're a bit battered, but fit my feet (size 12) but it became painfully apparent that the left trainer was giving me pain in the arch of my foot.

So what are the recommendations for general workout trainers? My routines involve running, turning, jumping, squats, planks etc so will need to cope with a range of movements.

Cheers :)

It depends on your feet - I'd go to a running shop and get them to check your gait on a machine. That way they can recommend a shoe that actually suits your foot rather than picking a random one that looks cool. I'd definitely advise it especially if your current pair cause you pain.

I had a look online and there is a place in Dundee that does the gait analysis but reading up on it, it seems to be aimed more at runners rather than just a general workout. Principles are the same i guess, when the cap fits, or shoe in this case :p

Try a few different pairs on jump about in them. Gait analysis is definitely worthwhile and if they feel good for you that's more important than any branding etc. Having said that, for gym I use Inov-8 Flite 195's and they are amazing (on my 3rd pair now)
