Hey all,

I want to get my first watercooling setup, however I only know what I've gleaned by reading threads and build logs.

I have a few ideas, which should make the specing easier, but I fear I will forget something so please chime in with your ideas etc :)

Bits I've picked:
  1. i7-2600K CPU XSPC Raystorm CPU block
  2. Radiator #1 - Slim Dual 120mm Radiator XSPC RS240
  3. Radiator #2 - Phobya 200mm Radiator
  4. Corsair 650D case

Things I DON'T want:
  1. 5.25 res
  2. External rads or cooling
  3. Noisy pump
  4. 5.25 fan controller

I have some 120mm fans, and a decent set of 200mm fans.

The 2 gfx cards (in SLI) I have will require a universal block each, as they are non-reference, and I'd like ID 1/2” – OD 3/4” tubing.

I need a LOT of help, and the budget is £300-400.

Fire away

Everything. I'm a complete noob to this, so I'm not sure what I'd need in terms of connections etc.

For example, is it best to buy a load of straight and angled connectors and then return anything I don't need, or guess it and pray I don't overlook something?

I want a tube res and a decent pump. I notice ocuk do a d5 pump & top combo, so I'll get that however is there a point in a larger res?

Finally, what's the difference between the EX and RS rad?

just get straight ones and order new ones as appropriate

no.

EX>RS

Get a piece of paper and plan your loop - plan where the tubing will go etc. Then you can decide what sort of fittings you need.

You would have been better off with a 240 or 280 rad for the top instead of the 120 mate, especially seeing as your looking to cool both a 2600k AND two graphics cards.

I'd recommend you hang fire till next week as at least two of us (me included) will have our watercooling in our 650D's setup by then. Will post picks etc so it should help you decide on components, loop plan etc. ;)
