Well it's coming up to my dads 50th and i'm looking to get him a bottle of whisky. He mainly drinks Bells but i'm looking for something a little different, no idea what though. I know theres quite a few whisky drinkers on here that can hopefully recommend some good ones.

Max budget is £50.

cheers

If he drinks Bells, he is obviously a blended malt drinker. If so, I can only suggest Johnnie Walker. Black isn't bad and is quite cheap IIRC.

Personally, I like single malts. Balvenie, Livet etc...

£50 means you're talking about getting hold of a nice whisky!

I would be heading straight to the Highland Park either 12 or 18 year old depending on the prices the stockists had.

If it's in your price range at your fine booze emporium you MUST try Highland Park 18 Year Old. It is divine, and you will not be disappointed. I love the stuff and have had people who hate whisky and the smell thereof so much that they want to puke. Needless to say their opinions changed when they tried this one and even proclaimed they thought it was lovely stuff (several drams down the line too mind ;) )

Please give it a go :)
