Ok I've had my Wii 2 weeks now and I have the following games:

Wii Sports
Zelda: Twilight Princess
Resident Evil 4

I have the following on pre-order:

Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles
Super Mario Galaxy
Super Smash Bros Brawl

I do like the more mature games (e.g. Resident Evil) so I'm wondering what I should be looking out for? My gf is a Mario fan, and it's rubbed off on me as well hence Mario Galaxy. I'll also be pre-ordering Mario Kart as soon as I'm able to do so.

Is there anything glaringly obvious that's out, or coming soon that I should also be considering? Metroid games don't really interest me, although I do mean to check out the VC offerings at some stage.

Metroid games aren't my thing thanks. I've not really heard or seen much on Paper Mario but I'd just assumed it wouldn't be my thing, what's the fuss about?

Paper Mario is an awesome platform/rpg/adventure game. Got excellent reviews in the US and has been very well received. A very polished off game that is both fun and original and doesn't rely on violence or graphics to sell but actual game play and appeal. It is a very unique style of game.

Metroid Prime could be the best game of year, or even of this generation. I wouldn't ignore it because of preconceived ideas.

I'm not going near it. I don't need another FPS.

Just out of interest, does any one know if Umbrella Chronicles is going to support 4:3 aspect ratios? I'm really hoping it does as that's the native aspect of my LCD.

I've been enjoying Mortal Kombat:Armageddon, it's a proper no brainer, ideal for winding down after having a tough day at work, heh :)

so Super Paper Mario is a must have? i've been looking in to this also ... i have £15 on my game card saved so tempted to use it and get this ... but if better games are coming out for the wii then i might save it

I've really enjoyed Godfather: Blackhand Edition, the graphics are a shameful ps2 port but its probably the best use of the Wii motion controls I've seen and it definitely classifies as mature.

mario strikers is awesome also picked up nfs carbon for 20 quid last week which is fun

a certain high street music shop owned by a man with an airline was doing buy one get one free on selected titles

I played this at a mates and I have to agree it was great fun. The sight of two fully grown men flapping their arms around trying to do the special moves must have been hilarious :D

Get Paper Mario and your missus will love you long time.

Also get Mario Strikers for when she's in the kitchen cooking your food.

It's not a classic FPS, it's more of an adventure game with occasional battles.

Mario strikers, paper mario and metroid 3 are all fantastic games.
