Hey everyone,

I do believe this is my first "spec me..." thread, but was hoping some of you guys know your stuff in the headphones department :)

I need a set of wireless headphones so I can lie in bed at night and watch movies loud without waking up the entire house. My bed is a good distance from my desk and I don't wanna mess with wires so.

Don't want to pay through the nose but I don't want to hear static either so I'm hoping for recommendations from personal experience. Also I'd prefer lighter smaller headphones to the big chunky ones that make your ears all hot but not *too* fussed.

I have some (chunky) Senheisers which are several years old but still great. They're open cup and are very light :).

Working nights, being up at strange times on my days off, and living in a flat, I've tried quite a few sets over the years. My current set is superb... Sennheiser HDR130.

The 2 AA batteries give great life (8+ hours), they're hard-wearing (unlike the previous Sennheisers I had, which also had nasty little batteries) and the aural quality is very good. Not as good as my Sennheiser HD580 wired headphones, but certainly nothing to complain about unless you're a hi-fi enthusiast. I've never had trouble with interference either... obviously this might change if the person next door owns a set. :-) There are two frequencies to choose from though.

Oh, and they're circumaural (rest on your head around the ears rather than on the ears themselves) so you don't get earache halfway through a movie. And although they're big & chunky, they're very comfortable indeed for long term use.

Just buy 'em. If mine broke today I'd buy another set straight away.

ended up buying sennheiser HDR 120's on the bay for £38 delivered :)

The only difference between those and the 130 is that they sit on your ear rather than around them. That'd be a problem for my delicate little lugholes, which get sore after a while with that style of headphone on. Hopefully you'll have tougher, man-ears that can take the strain. :-)

Either way I hope you'll be happy with them.

PS I was just hunting around on Google and I'll mention this just in case... the RS120 seems to be the set which includes the headset and base station. Just be careful in case you only bought the headset (HDR 120). They're available separately so multiple people can listen to the same thing. I'm sure you're not that daft, but it's the kind of daft mistake I've made myself, especially on auction sites when the bargain monster can strike before your brain's got into gear.
