I need some steel toe cap boots for my new job. The boots I have are so damn uncomfortable, and I'm wearing thick socks. But they only cost me £20 from a warehouse years back.

After some new ones please, I'll be doing a lot of walking in these boots, So comfort is very important. Rigger boots are banned from the site I'm on.

Any recommendations?

DM's - i used to wear them to work every day 12 ish hrs/day, lovely and comfy once they are worn in (soften the seam up the back by hitting it with a hammer!).

Why are riggers banned?

Lack of ankle support that you get with lace up boots. Many places I've worked don't allow them and in other places where the company provides safety gear they usually provide you with an 8 eyelet lace up boot or safety wellies (which I got when I worked with concrete everyday).

can wear shoes on ng sites just not riggers, wierd i know :p

I'm a big fan of CAT boots but they can be a bit pricey. Whatever you do buy give them plently of time to soften up.

you get what you pay for ;)

my most recent safety boots (i go through 2 pairs a year) i bought in Sports Direct, they are made by Karimoor, the hiking boot maker, so are really comfy.
also they are only £24.99 :)

had my dm's for 6 years now, amazingly comfy and well worth the extra ££££.

make sure you look after them though, clean them regularly with a good shoe polish.

lol, i work on building sites, after the first day they will be scuffed and often caked in mud, so polish is something i dont use often ;):p

I have to look presentable, Black trousers, Shirt, and workboots. Weird combination I know, but its a university campus.

I will be looking after mine, I'll have to go asfar as to get rid of the yellow trim around the DMs though. Sharpie pen will do the job lol

you can get trainers with a toe cap, maybe worth looking into, if you dont need boots,
you can get them at that s.american river place quite cheap

You can get DMs with black soles and stitching. Icon 7 eye steel toe. Even with the yellow stitching though I think DMs still look smart with a suit/smart work wear. Even had people comment "oh, DMs, I haven't seen those in years".
