So my girlfriend has been hounding me for a couple of weeks to try and convince me to buy an xbox360, I have so far resisted but I think I'm going to capitulate.

However I am a little stuck on what games to get.

Overall I'm into FPS/3PS and racing games, am generally open minded about RPGs (like Zelda, don't like FF) and hate all sports games with a passion :)

I deal I've chosen comes with Project Gotham Racing 3 and then a choice of 3 other games.

I think I'll get Gears of War and Call of Duty 3, but I'm a bit stuck on the final choice...

Test Drive Unlimited - Better/worse than PGR ?
A Tom Clancy Game - too much FPS ?
Viva Pinata - for something totally different ?
... or something completly different.. ?

Spec me you're best OCuk - I salute you! :D

id drop either GoW or CoD 3 and get Vegas, and then for something different and with a lot of playability Test Drive/Tomb Raider (great fun)

Controversial ;)
Do you think thats the best of the 3 Tom Clancy Games (Ghost Recon/Vegas/Double Agent) ?

Vegas gets the best players vote on the website I' looking at

Vegas looking at it from a singple and multiplayer point of view in my opinion better then CoD, GoW, SCDA, and GRAW.

GoW graphically is the best, but for me lacks a lot in other areas.

If i had to order them in terms of fun (imo of course):

Vegas
SCDA
GRAW
GoW
CoD3

If you can get Dead Rising it is a must, an absolute must! Totally different, totally crazy.

How much do you like playing multiplayer paddy? It's worth bearing in mind that McD likes his single player games and game score hunting games but as a multiplayer only gamer I agree with most of his recommendations.

Again, not the greatest fan of this, while original and fun (for about 15mins) certainly dont see the long-term appeal

This is true, i do love a good single player story/game as i play at my own tempo - the only game in terms of multiplayer i continue to go back to is Vegas (though not recently as been busy)

If you were paying full whack £40 or £50 for this on release then if you don't see full appeal then I'd understand saying it doesn't hold much long term value. Considering you can get it now for less than £25 then its a massive bargain I think...7 multiple endings and 5 hours to each play...that screams 35 hours of very good VFM to me :)

It was a suggestion for something different anyway, away from Sports games which he has listed as a no.

im not knocking the suggestion Tom, just opening up the discussion with my own views; it sold by the bucket load and got rave reviews so its obviously a good game to most, just not me :)

Wow, an explosion of replies - cheers.

I really like multiplayer gaming - I've played Counterstrike since v1.0 and got addicted to multiplayer Goldeneye 64 and Diddy Kong :)

I've played GOW and COD3 on a mates xbox and really liked then for the 30mins I played on each. I was slightly worried (just a small bit mind) that GOW would turn out like Halo - where each area was the same and the whole thing became really repetative - but I can be convinced otherwise.

In short multiplayer games with a big replay value are my thing (hence Counterstrike :) )

The locations do change (and they are stunning in places) but the gameplay is pretty much the same throughout tbh.

Don't take my tone as being mardy, understand the opinion on Dead Rising as I can see the issue with it :)

What about Saints Row as another for the hat? I havn't played it much as yet but it's very GTA in style. Now you've added you like the multiplayer value I am thinking out of the box a bit! Saints Row any good multiplayer anyone?

i was a huge counter-strike fan myself, played since the first beta - if you like CS then Vegas is a must choice.

GoW to me can be a bit repetative it doesnt really have to many familiar envireonments which is good but what you actually do is the same, with Vegas you can put a bit more effort into tactically moving on and using your environment to your advantage which made it more appealing to me

I think Lag was a big issue with Saints Row MP - not sure if its been sorted yet

Sorry for an off topic post but I can't resist...CS beta's were by far the best!
