Looking to spend about a grand on a new system in a couple of months.

I would find one myself but i'm worried about the compatibility and other issues.

I would ideally like a quad core system and a decent graphics card capable of running dual monitors. SLI would be nice but it's not essential

I already have all the peripherals I need but if you think I would get away with buying 2 screens and still have a decent rig for the budget, chuck them in too.

Cheers,
can't wait to see what you come up with

There isn't a huge amount of point in doing this until you are within the week of buying due to the deals changing but since I had a system almost pre-selected I've added a monitor and you are still a bit under budget.

Will you be overclocking?

I'm considering it. nothing huge but I might a little if I'm confident enough with it.

Cheers, semi-pro. Great setup. Only thing I might be tempted to change is the HDD to a 500GB one since I play with different Linux distros and videos quite a bit.

There's another Western Digital one i've seen on here which will bring me to 992.70.
leaves enough out of the grand to buy myself lunch. Or I could throw in a few more quid for a copy of vista

Cheers

Good plan on the larger hard drive, I would have changed it myself but I was being too lazy when I realised that what I had in the basket got me to within £25 of the grand anyway. :)

You could overclock that PC fairly easily or at least the components give you about as good a chance as any in the budget.

cheers again.
If the prices are diff at the time I order, I can always swap something out and something else in anyway. Good setup though
I look forward to ordering it
