Been holding out for a 2005 Impreza STI for 6 month now but starting to consider alternatives during this quiet winter market.

Max budget is about £9K.

Previous noteworthy cars;

Honda Civic Type-R EP3
Golf MK5 R32

Considered;

Evo 8 FQ MR - possibly
E46 M3 - likely ruled out
350Z?
Integra DC5?
Type-R FN2?
MK5 GTI?

Any other suggestions? Will likely hold out for a Scoob but doesnt harm to window shop :)

350Z ;)

You're right it's a bad market... I'm looking to sell mine in December but might keep it on the drive back home for a few months undriven.

All awesome cars (except the GTI, personal opinion though)

But you have 3 complete different kind of cars, superior FWD handling cars, mad jap RWD and Turbo'ed 4WD.

If you can afford the running costs of a Evo, that would be my choice out of those cars. Not quite enough for a good example M3.

Out of the lot the Evo is the one that is on par with a STI being 4WD turbo/handling/power etc....

Buy a Vauxhall Nova and spend £8500 on mods?

Will be pretty cool, I hear a modded nova basically has the pussy power of a Veyron.

Do you need 4 seats and a boot? :)

Some sort of kit car, if its a car purely for fun of course.

I also know of a Evo 8 FQ MR that is being sold for a decent price, with a nice sensible list of mods.

Black 2005 Impreza STi

:D

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Think I might just hold out over Christmas then perhaps a Scoob may appear. The R32 was an alternative choice and I hated it.

My main worry is continually dipping in to my budget :eek:

Just hit autotrader two times a day etc. and you will find the car mate.

Seriously mate it's literally every hour, my routine is;

  • Pistonheads
  • Autotrader
  • eBay
  • Scoobynet

In honesty I've been a little picky on distance and still am to some degree. I'm also trying to hold out for one with black/anthracite wheels and front splitter but obviously I can do that myself later.

6 months of that and you still don't have a car? Worlds fussiest buyer? Seriously, give up, now.

a) Don't worry about distance
b) You can have my wheels, i've got new ones waiting to be fitted so just get a standard car and you can have my old ones, they are 5x114 so the right size too for 2005+
