Spec me something impractical for 2k

Well, now that I live just around the corner from work, I don't need my car as a daily driver anymore.

So, i'm considering something less practical and more fun

I currently drive a 205 GTI.

I'm thinking mk1 mx5, maybe another 205, with an Mi16 conversion..

Any ideas?

Can get a Pulsar GTi-R for £2k.

A reasonable one? I still want it there to use when I need it.
